about
suicide is not a cry for help. it is a drastic measure taken to escape suffering. often when people are at the point of attempt they do not believe they are worthy of help anyway. please be there for your people before it is too late. tell them you love them. show them that you love them. take the call. let them know you’re there and then show the fuck up. even when it’s hard. it takes a village, and sometimes that’s still not enough, but at the end of the day, we’re all we’ve got. suicide prevention is not a hotline. suicide prevention is something that must happen long before someone is actively attempting. it’s community care. it’s telling truth to power. it’s believing lived experience. suicide prevention is disability justice. it’s anti-racism. it’s housing equity. it’s access to food. it’s access to healthcare. it’s prioritizing people over profit.. it’s love.
suicide prevention is radically changing the world so people don’t need an escape.
i love you, girl. i wish you were still here. i wish that i could’ve given you the way i see you. i will be okay. i wish you could’ve seen that you would’ve been too, but i know that there was nothing i could do as an individual to compete with the world wanting you dead. i know that feeling. i am so grateful for the time we had together on this plane. i will always see you in me and me in you.
lyrics
maybe we were dumb and young
maybe it was just the drugs
but that hallowed night really left a hold on me
this is the last song i swear i’m done
and thanks for all the fun
but people like us could never love like that
and we tumbled down the rabbit hole
and we dreamt what it’d be like when we grew old
and your daddy said you couldn’t stay
and you threatened to run away
and your mom came with the cops
please count on me to let you know when
i’ll be coming home
don’t count on me ‘cause i don’t care if
i ever come home
